Terms and Conditions
Introduction
Welcome to Red Door Counselling Services. These Terms outline the rules and regulations for using my counselling services. By accessing and using my services, you (“the client”) agree to comply with and be bound by the following terms and conditions. It is your right to have a complete explanation for any questions you may have, now or in the future. Although I know this may be uncomfortable at times, your openness and honesty will allow me to better serve you.
1. Eligibility
To use my counselling services, you must be at least 18 years old and currently reside in South Australia. I do not offer counselling services to those aged under 18 years old at this time. You must reside in a region where my services are available (South Australia only).
2. Confidentiality
All counselling sessions are confidential. This includes all personal information obtained and/or shared, including any notes taken during sessions. I ensure your privacy from inside the walls of Red Door Counselling, however it is your responsibility to ensure that your environment (e.g. video call sessions) is private and free from interruptions during the session.
3. Informed Consent
By using my services, you consent to the use of telecommunication for counselling sessions. You understand video counselling has limitations compared to in-person sessions, including the potential for technical issues, interruptions, unauthorised access, and technical difficulties. You understand that either of us can discontinue the telecommunication session if we feel that the videoconferencing connections are not adequate for the situation.
4. Appointment Scheduling and Cancellations
Appointments must be scheduled in advance. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please provide at least 24 HOURS notice, and you are responsible for the entire session fee if cancellation is less than 24 hours. Cancellations and rescheduled sessions may be subject to a full charge if not received at least 24 hours in advance. This is necessary because a time commitment is made to you and is held exclusively for you.
5. Payment and Fees
Fees for counselling services are as follows:
Initial 15-minute consultation: FREE
Initial 60-minute counselling session: $100 (AUD)
Subsequent 60-minute counselling sessions (In-person and Video call): $100.00 (AUD) per session
Couples 90-minute counselling sessions (In-person and Video call): $140 (AUD) per session
Walk and Talk counselling sessions: $140 (AUD)
Payment is due at the time of booking. I accept bank transfer/PayID. Details will be communicated to you during the booking process.
6. Technical Requirements
You are responsible for ensuring that you have the necessary technology (a device with internet access, a camera, and a microphone) to participate in video sessions. I recommend testing your setup before your first session.
7. Emergency Situations
Video counselling is not suitable for crisis situations. Red Door Counselling is not an emergency service. If you are experiencing a mental health emergency, you can contact the Mental Health Triage Service/Crisis Intervention Service at 13 14 65, Emergency Services at 000, or go to your nearest hospital.
8. Termination of Services
You may terminate your use of my services at any time. All professional therapeutic relationships must eventually come to an end. The closure of the counselling relationship is an important step for all clients and one that I strive to handle carefully and respectfully in collaboration with you. Termination of services may arise for several reasons:
If you have reached all your desired counselling goals
If you require a higher level of services or a different kind of specialised treatment (i.e., inpatient care)
If I am unable or unwilling to continue services for an appropriate reason (i.e., retiring, moving, or having had a life change that prevents me from continuing my practice)
If a conflict of interest is identified after treatment begins
If you fail to participate in therapy (i.e., not showing up for appointments, not complying with treatment recommendations)
If you fail to communicate with me (i.e., not responding to appropriate communications prior to termination)
9. Liability
While I strive to provide high-quality individual counselling services, I cannot guarantee any specific outcomes. You agree to release Red Door Counselling from any liability related to your use of my counselling services, except as required by law.
10. Governing Law
These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of Australia. Any disputes arising from these terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in South Australia (SA), Australia.
